Fanelle White was born and raised in Boston where she was exposed to many forms of art. As the daughter of an engineer, White learned to combine her artistic talents with the ideals of "form follows function." It was a natural transition to graduate from Pratt Institute with a degree in Industrial Design.

White began her art career as a model maker and draftsman in the point-of-purchase industry. Throughout the years, she shifted her career towards education and completed two Master degrees in art education and general education, eventually becoming an adjunct professor at St. John’s University. She considers herself blessed to have taught fine art in a large, comprehensive high school that specialized in the arts.

White grew to love the summer air at the beach where her grandmother lived in a Boston suburb. As she paints each beach scene, she is reminded of those happy days with her Nana. White uses acrylics in most of her work, and occasionally uses watercolor depending on the subject matter.

After a fulfilling career in art education, White retired to the Jersey Shore where she has found time to paint and reflect on the region's beauty.
