   Lorraine Dey is an Award-winning painter of Landscapes, Seascapes, Coastal and Animal Art. Her paintings and pencil drawings are included in numerous private collections across the U.S. and abroad, with a recent commission sent to Finland. Since 1985, Lorraine’s extensive art career has included professional Art Direction, Graphic Design, Technical Illustration and Fine Art.

   Her current focus is on creating representational and abstract realism in her paintings, capturing majestic moments in nature, as well as adding the occasional pencil drawing of animals, old barns, coastal subjects, boat marinas and more.

   Lorraine’s work has won several awards from “First Place” to “Honorable Mention”. She has exhibited her work throughout the U.S. and Canada in various galleries, juried museum shows and national exhibitions.

She has also been a juried exhibitor in several International Miniature Art Exhibitions, with her traditional miniature artwork.

   Lorraine has studied with world-renowned artists such as Robert Bateman and John Seerey-Lester, attending lectures and workshops led by her mentors. She is a current elected artist member (EAM), of the American Artists Professional League

in NY (AAPL), the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS), the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) and the

Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF).

Lorraine recently received several “Artistic Recognition” and “Special Merit” awards from “Art and Color 365” Magazine’s monthly

world-wide competitions, with her award-winning work published in the International Art Magazine. She has had her work accepted into the 2023 NOAPS, “National Online Members Juried Exhibit”, as well as the juried “2025 Annual ”MASF” Miniature Art Exhibit in Dunedin, FL.

   Between 2010 and 2023, Lorraine illustrated over 40 published children's books featuring her stylized animal art. Prior to that she worked as an Art Director, graphic designer and illustrator, creating professional artwork for corporations. Besides winning several awards from at many art exhibitions, in 1990 she was awarded the “NJ DU Print of the Year” and the “NY DU Artist of the Year” with her painting, “Muddy Water Retreat”, sponsored by the Genessee Brewing Co. in Rochester, NY.

  Lorraine's book illustrations have also won awards such as a silver "Mom's Choice Award", Gelett Burgess and Independent

Publishers Awards. Today Lorraine exhibits her work in several Galleries across the U.S., primarily along the East Coast from Maine to Florida. She currently works in her New Jersey studio near the shore when she is not traveling.
