Cathleen Engelsen is an Ocean County native with a deep appreciation of New Jersey’s rich, historical background and its breath-taking coastal scenery. She studied art at Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia College of Art. She also studied at Stockton State College. Cathleen paints in watercolor, acrylic, and oil and is noted throughout New Jersey for her historical paintings. Each project reflects detailed research into the state’s past. Her sources include historical societies, libraries, and a treasury of rare, old photographs. She was commissioned by several corporations to create historic paintings of New Jersey towns.
